9/11 Families United is a coalition of families and survivors of the worst-ever terrorist attacks on American soil.  We soon will face the 20th Anniversary of that day, so we are coming together anew to urge our fellow Americans to demand answers to longstanding, unresolved questions about those terrorist attacks, and to insist that our government release the evidence it is withholding — once and for all.

We believe that 20 years is too long to wait for full transparency …

… about the murders of our loved ones,

… about the nations, especially Saudi Arabia, that helped the hijackers,

… about the nations that provided financial backing for al Qaeda, and

… about America’s “allies” who continue to send terrorists into the world.

The U.S. government has thousands of pages of evidence that will help us answer to these questions, but it has stonewalled for 20 years — acknowledging it has the evidence, but refusing to share it.

This coverup must stop. We make this demand on behalf of our community, but also for all Americans who care about accountability and truth.  We make this demand with a shared sense of purpose — that we will not rest until our government finally does the right thing.

Without that transparency and candor, we can’t heal — not as family members and survivors, and not as citizens.  Today we are left with doubt, distrust, and anger at the politicians and bureaucrats who claim they care about the truth and the pain we have suffered, but then work every day to keep us in the dark.  This must stop.  We all deserve answers, and we all can learn from an honest, public exposure of the facts.

Only then can Americans have confidence that we are doing everything we can to ensure justice, and to make sure that a day like 9/11 never happens again.
